Is it really free?
Yes — reminders are free forever, for unlimited birthdays, anniversaries, and custom dates. You get email reminders a week before and on the day, plus the weekly digest. We make money when you choose to send a real mailed card ($7.99 including postage) or upgrade for extras like custom lead times and the calendar feed. No trial that expires, no card required to sign up.
How do mailed cards work?
You pick a design, type your message, and we print it in a warm handwriting-style script, stamp it, and mail it — timed to arrive on or just before the occasion. You can have it sent straight to the recipient, or to you first so you can sign it yourself and drop it in the mail. À la carte cards are $7.99 including postage; the Concierge plan includes six per year.
Can I import my contacts?
Yes. You can import birthdays from Google Contacts or upload a CSV, and we'll match names and dates automatically. Most people get their whole list in within a couple of minutes — and you can always add one-off dates by hand.
What about anniversaries and non-birthday dates?
Fully supported. Wedding anniversaries, work anniversaries, memorial dates, adoption days, graduations — any date, recurring or one-time. If you add the original year, we'll even tell you which one it is (“Mom & Dad's 35th”) so your card can say the right number.
How is this different from a calendar?
A calendar tells you it's your friend's birthday today — which is exactly when it's too late to do anything thoughtful about it. Occasion Day reminds you before the date, with enough lead time to buy a gift or mail a card, and it can actually do the mailing for you. Calendars store dates; we make sure something happens on them.
