Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Occasion Day (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services. By using Occasion Day, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — your email address (we use passwordless sign-in) and, optionally, your name and mailing address (used as the return address on cards).
  • Recipient information you provide — the names, mailing addresses, and dates of the people or clients you add so we can send them cards.
  • Order and message content — the card designs, handwriting styles, and messages you choose.
  • Payment information — processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full payment-card numbers; we retain only limited billing references needed to manage your account.
  • Usage information — first-party analytics about how the site is used (for example, pages viewed and actions taken), a device identifier stored in your browser, and basic technical data such as approximate source of a visit.

2. How we use information

  • To provide the Service — send reminders, deliver e-cards, and print and mail physical cards;
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions and automatic (autopilot) charges you authorize;
  • To provide support and respond to your requests;
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Service;
  • To send marketing emails only if you opt in — you can withdraw consent at any time. Transactional messages (such as sign-in links, reminders, and receipts) are not marketing and are sent as part of the Service.

3. Recipient information

When you add a person or client, you provide their personal information. You represent that you have the right and authority to provide that information and to have a card sent to them. We use recipient information only to fulfill the cards you request and related service functions — we do not use it to market to your recipients.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers who help us run Occasion Day, only as needed to provide the Service:

  • Handwrytten — prints, handwrites, and mails physical cards (receives recipient and sender addresses and your message).
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Resend — sending transactional and (if opted in) marketing email.
  • Supabase — database and authentication.
  • Vercel — website hosting.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

5. Data retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@occasion.day.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Marketing — opt in or out at any time in your settings.
  • Access, correction, deletion — email us to request a copy of your data, corrections, or deletion.
  • California residents— you may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. Contact us to exercise these rights.
  • EEA/UK residents — where the GDPR/UK GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies needed to sign you in and keep the site working, and first-party analytics stored in your browser to understand and improve usage. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
